Overview

Tech Specs are a way to define your own custom fields which will be used to capture information about your assets. Tech Specs can then be used for filtering assets in the Operations Allocations page, for restricting the ability to allocate vehicles to certain jobs that have a tech spec applied as a requirement or for displaying relevant information to drivers on the tablet.

Your current list of tech specs can be found by navigating to WorkshopConfigurationTech Specs.

Below you will see some examples of tech specs that you may want to set up to record information about your assets.

For Operations

Specifying that a tech spec is ‘For Operations’ allows for the following:

  1. When viewing job allocations by vehicles (OperationsAllocations → Vehicles) the tech spec will be displayed as a filter option. Operations will be able to filter the vehicle view to only show vehicles that meet the tech spec criteria.

  2. When creating a shift, entering a quote or editing a job, the tech spec will be available in the vehicle requirements section. This allows restrictions to be placed on the vehicles that can be allocated to that shift or job. In the example below, if Translink vehicle is ticked as yes on the shift or quote, only vehicles that have the Translink Vehicle tech spec ticked as yes will be available to be allocated to any jobs created from that shift or booking.

For Tablets

Setting this option to yes on a tech spec means that the tech spec & its corresponding value will be shown in the Vehicle Specs section of the Driver’s Tablet. Examples of tech specs that might be useful for drivers to see in the Tablet might include vehicle weight and height or the vehicle’s fuel range.
