Overview
Route Training jobs can be created from School, Urban, Rail, Charter & Contract Charter jobs.
A Route Training Job is a duplicate of the original, with a child (Trainee) to parent (Trainer) relationship. The trainee’s job contains all the information needed by the trainee to know when to clock on, what the job is, which vehicle they will be travelling in & who their trainer will be.
One parent job can have multiple child / training jobs attached to it.
How to create a Route Training Job
- Open the job you would like to create a Route Training Job from.
- Open the Triple Dot Menu & select Create Route Training Job.
- A modal will open, allowing you to select the Trainee Staff Member you would like to assign.
- Select the Trainee Staff Member or just press ok to create the Route Training Job without a staff member allocated.
- A new Route Training Job will be created & will open on your screen.
Navigating between linked trainer & trainee jobs
- Inside both trainer & trainee jobs there is a tab on the right of the page called “Linked”.
- Inside the trainer’s job, the linked tab provides links to all training jobs created from it.
- Inside any of the trainee’s jobs, the linked tab provides a link back to its parent.
Keeping training jobs in sync with each other
- All Trainee Jobs will automatically update if the driver or vehicle is changed in the trainer’s job.
- Charter jobs will automatically update if any changes are made to the Routes.
- Clock on & Clock off times can be changed independently of each other as they are not kept in sync after the training job has been created.
How do the trainer & trainee know about each other
- All parties will see
- A note added to the job card on the kiosk informing them who their trainer / trainees will be.
- A note added to the Daily Summary Sheet printout informing them who their trainer / trainees will be.
Trainee job completion details
- Trainee jobs need to have completion details entered in the kiosk, the same as any other job type.
- Trainees only need to confirm their finish time & breaks.
- Trainees will not be asked to enter odometer readings as they will be recorded by the trainer.
Trainee jobs in the tablet
- The trainer is the only person who should sign in to the tablet during a training job.
- All tablet progress needs to be recorded against the trainers job, using the trainer’s login.
- If a trainee signs in to the tablet while on a training job, they will be presented with a message asking them to sign out & sign back in using the trainers employee ID
Working with training jobs
You can filter for training jobs on all pages where filters are present using the Training Yes / No filter.
Anywhere you see jobs listed, you will see the name of the Trainee listed with the trainer & vice versa, on the trainee’s job you will see the name of the trainer.
❕Note: Completing a Route Training job does not automatically assign the staff member with the skill spec that they are training for. Changing the Skill Specs of a Staff Member is a manual step that needs to be done separately. See Working with Skill Specs
