Overview
The Driver’s Tablet Documents feature allows important PDF files—like Desto codes, fatigue regulations, or wheelchair lift instructions to be made available directly to drivers via the tablet interface.
This article outlines how to upload, manage, and present documents to drivers across your fleet.
Where to Find It
Drivers can access documents by opening the Documents option in the Driver's Tablet menu.
- Files are displayed in order from most recent to oldest.
- Each file includes a View button to open the PDF in full screen.
Example Use Cases
- Driver Instructions: How to use the wheelchair lift.
- Safety Guidelines: Fatigue rules, fire evacuation plans.
- Timetables & Routes: Desto codes or boarding locations.
- Company Notices: Policy changes or reminders.
Upload Tips
- Use clear, driver-friendly file names (e.g. "Wheelchair Lift Procedure.pdf").
- Keep documents under 10MB for fast loading.
- PDFs only—other formats are not supported.
Making a Document Available on the Driver’s Tablet
To display a document for a specific asset:
- Go to Workshop → Assets and select the relevant asset.
- Navigate to the Attachments tab.
- Upload a new PDF or edit an existing one.
- Set the Available On Driver Tablet toggle to Yes.
- Save.
📌 Only documents with this flag enabled will appear on the tablet for the assigned vehicle.
Enhanced Document Management Features
In addition to adding a single document to a specific asset, you can also upload and manage shared documents across multiple assets.
Upload Directly to the Documents Page
You don’t need to attach PDFs to individual assets. Instead:
- Go to Workshop → Assets → Documents.
- Click the + Add button.
- Upload one or more PDFs directly.
This is useful for uploading global documents like safety guidelines or corporate memos.
Link Documents to Multiple Assets
After uploading a document, link it to relevant assets using filters:
- Filter by Asset Category (e.g. Fleet, Plant).
- Filter by Subcategory (e.g. Bus, Trailer, Car).
- Filter by Tech Specs, such as vehicles with a wheelchair lift.
✔️ Bulk select assets to save time and ensure consistency.
Update a Document (Version Control)
To replace a document while keeping asset links intact:
- Click the Replace button on an existing document.
- Upload the new version.
- All linked assets will now reference the updated PDF.
Delete Unused Documents
Remove outdated files quickly:
- Find the document in Assets → Documents.
- Use the Delete button to remove it from the system.
🔍 Filters help locate documents based on asset linkages.
