Overview

When a driver will be completing two or more jobs without returning to the depot, in most circumstances, those jobs should be linked together in a continuation.

Linking jobs together in a continuation has the following effects:

Continuations can create links between multiple jobs.

How to link jobs together in a Continuation

To create a continuation between two jobs, the driver and vehicle allocated to both jobs must be the same.

Open either one of the jobs you would like to link and click on the Continue tab on the right.

The continue tab shows you the eligible jobs that could be linked to or from.

Click the 🔗 link icon next to the job you would like to join the current job to.

This will open up the Continue to Job modal where you can alter the changeover time. The system will automatically populate a changeover time that is half way between the drop off time of the first job and the pickup time of the second job.

This automatic changeover time may not be appropriate so it’s up to you to change it if required.

Once you’re happy with the changeover time, click Link to join the two jobs in a continuation.

Edit or unlink a continuation

Once linked, two icons will appear next to the related job in the continue tab.

These will allow you to edit the changeover time (the icon to the left) or unlink the jobs from each other (the icon on the right)

How continuations look for drivers.

Drivers are made aware of continuations via the kiosk, their paperwork, their driver’s app and on the vehicle mounted tablets.

When you’re inside a job, the continue tab indicators let you know if the job is already in a continuation or can be made into a continuation by the direction they are facing and whether or not they are filled in or just an outline.
